About.

American composer Navdeep Singh Galen creates immersive musical experiences that explore new directions in tonal expression with a focus on human emotion, interpretation, and communication. Equally at home in the writing room, the recording studio, and the concert stage, Navdeep has become known for his elegant and conceptual musical pieces that contain sleek, balanced aesthetics using rich, colorful material. His works combine classical, jazz, and world music into a creative and stylish blend that is modern yet inextricably linked to classical and jazz traditions.

Originally hailing from Virginia, Navdeep discovered his love for music as a tuba player and disc jockey in middle school. Navdeep’s passion for music led him to concentrate in music performance and recording arts in college. Soon after graduating, he moved to New York City, and living in the “big city” sparked a curiosity in jazz music, composition, musical theater, and songwriting, which led him to branch out in new directions. He soon found himself performing his own material at some of the trendiest music venues in New York, Los Angeles, and in cities and college towns across the United States.

In addition to writing contemporary classical concert pieces for instrumental chamber groups, orchestra, opera, ballet, vocal ensembles, and individual singers, Navdeep is also involved in jazz composition, film and television scoring, musical theater, and songwriting. As a session writer, Navdeep seeks to create a constructive, collaborative environment that encourages discussion and analysis to deliver appropriate solutions to the many challenges and obstacles to be found in recording and writing projects. A seasoned multi-instrumentalist, Navdeep has performed and recorded a variety of instruments, in a variety of roles, and in a variety of situations.
